Jeanie Marie Buss is an American businesswoman from the United States. She is the current president and controlling shareholder of the Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. The California born Buss was raised in an affluent family. Jerry Buss' father was an investor in real estate and was later a part owner of the Lakers as well as several other companies in the field of sports. In the event that her parents divorced in 1972, she was convinced that they had abandoned her. At 19 years old, she began working for the family business as the director of the Los Angeles Strings professional tennis team. Then she founded the Los Angeles Blades pro roller hockey team. She was head of the Great Western Forum before assuming the duties of the vice president of the Lakers. Buss took over Lakers ownership Lakers from her father in 2013. The five siblings she had inherited it through a family trust. She assumed the office as the president of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is also a co-owner of Women of Wrestling a pro-wrestling promotion that is based in Los Angeles.
